BATON ROUGE Baton Rouge (băt`ən rzh) [Fr.,=red stick], city (1990 pop. 219,531), state capital and seat of East Baton Rouge parish, SE La. , La.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 29, 2003

APPRO Systems, Inc., the leading provider of automated credit risk management and financial technologies for the lending industry, announced today that it has successfully interfaced its consumer loan automation system, LoanCenter for Consumer(TM) (LCC (Leadless Chip Carrier, Leaded Chip Carrier) See leadless chip carrier, CLCC and PLCC.

1. LCC - Language for Conversational Computing. Written at CMU in the 1960's.
), with CU Direct Corporation's Credit Union Direct Lending (CUDL CUDL Credit Union Direct Lending ) program, which enables members to directly receive their credit union financing via an automated loan decision process at participating automobile dealerships.

An interface is currently in use at Boeing Employees Credit Union (Tukwila, Wa.) who has APPRO's technology installed on-site as well as Northeast Credit Union (Portsmouth, N.H.) who uses LCC in an ASP model.

This interface enables automobile dealers throughout various regions of the country to submit consumer loan applications online to participating credit unions that utilize CUDL and APPRO's technology. The members' application information is submitted via the Web using CUDL's Dealer Interface. CUDL's decision engine provides a response to the dealer within seconds and then transmits the application, decision and credit report data into LCC. This enables the credit union to manage the risks and workflows of its indirect CUDL portfolio within LCC, including communication with the dealer, as well as all steps associated with application fulfillment.

"The goal is for lenders to streamline their systems and processes," said Jennifer Thalhamer, CU Direct vice president for Products and Services. "The interface enables the lender to manage one workflow and training process with their lending staff, thereby saving both time and resources. This is also a first step, that allows us to explore further interface options with APPRO and our mutual clients."

Another advantage of the interface is that it enables users to review demographic and portfolio data for the indirect lending channel along with their other channels, using the reports and management tools provided through LCC.

"For our credit union clients that provide indirect loan financing, this interface with CUDL represents a significant step toward making the loan application process as quick as possible for their members," said Steve Uffman, chairman and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of APPRO Systems, Inc. "With the combined functionality of APPRO and CUDL, credit unions that utilize the two systems will be in a position to effectively differentiate themselves from their competition and better provide their membership with the products and services that they expect in today's lending environment."
