The Washington Apple Commission and Tree Top are sponsoring a national retail promotion in which consumers who purchase one gallon gallon: see English units of measurement. or two half-gallons of Tree Top apple juice can receive up to $1.50 rebate rebate, partial refund of the total price paid for goods or services. Marketing directors from both organizations say the initial response from retailers has been enthusiastic, and the idea is winning praise from within the apple industry. ``We think this is absolutely great,'' said Steve Pauley of Stemilt Growers in Wenatchee. ``It allows us to tie in Washington apples in the juice form and fresh Washington apples, both of which are being produced by the same growers.'' Ed Kershaw, president of Kershaw Fruit in Yakima, agreed. ``This is a natural,'' Kershaw said. ``It goes without saying that any time we can combine the marketing efforts of the apple commission with the marketing efforts of the world's largest processor of apple products, it's something whose time has come.'' The joint effort marks the first time the two industry giants have worked together, although both have done numerous cross-merchandising programs with other companies. ``We were looking for Looking for In the context of general equities, this describing a buy interest in which a dealer is asked to offer stock, often involving a capital commitment. The promotion will be run primarily in western and Midwestern states where Tree Top products are most prevalent. But Hurson said any retailer could take part in the promotion -- which runs from mid-September through November. ``It (the promotion) can be real low key, with neck hangers hangers used for hanging x-ray films to dry. Or, it can be a real big deal with big displays and advertising,'' Hurson said, adding he hoped the flexibility of the program would encourage more retailers to participate. Supermarket point-of-sale materials include poster-sized ``header (1) In a disk or tape file, a set of data that resides permanently at the beginning.
