Tasting event, dinner

to showcase Italian wines

Sundance Wine Cellars and Adam's Place Restaurant will present a special tasting of wines from Italian producer Produttori del Barbaresco at Luna, next to Adam's Place, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 9. Produttori manager Aldo Vacca will lead the tasting.

Produttori is one of Piedmont's finest producers of barbaresco and this event will feature wines from the 1996, 1997, 1998 and 1999 vintages. Tickets are $25 per person and are available from Sundance Wine Cellars, 2470 Alder alder (ôl`dər), name for deciduous trees and shrubs of the genus Alnus of the family Betulaceae (birch family), widely distributed, especially in mountainous and moist areas of the north temperate zone and in the Andes.  St., and Adam's Place, 30 E. Broadway.

Following the tasting, a special four-course wine dinner with Vacca presiding will take place at Adam's Place. Dinner tickets are $50 per person, including wine. A $5 discount is available to those purchasing tickets to both the tasting and the dinner.

Marche to celebrate

with foods of Provence

Marche restaurant at the Fifth Street Public Market will celebrate its fifth birthday next week by serving the foods of Provence at special dinners on Wednesday and Thursday (Aug. 27-28). The main course for this six-course meal will be a choice of Bouillabaisse bouil·la·baisse

1. A highly seasoned stew made of several kinds of fish and shellfish.
