Food columnist designs

dinner at Corvallis winery

Tyee Wine Cellars and The Register-Guard's "Fresh Approach" food columnist Jan Roberts-Dominguez invite you to a celebration of food, wine, art and music on July 12 at the winery, south of Corvallis.

As in previous years, Roberts-Dominguez has designed a five-course dinner (choose from either an entree of grilled salmon or of alder-smoked pork loin chop). The cost, including wine, is $55 per person. Saturday is the deadline for making a reservation by calling [phone].

Senior Frog becomes

grill with Brazilian food

A new name and a menu that features the flavor of Brazil are two of the changes at Rio Bar & Grill, 444 E. Third Ave. Formerly Senior Frog Restaurant, Rio Bar & Grill remains under the same ownership but offers a new, family oriented format.

Ambrosia now offers

$16 three-course meal

Ambrosia Restaurant & Bar, 174 E. Broadway, is now offering a special three-course meal for $16 on Sunday and Monday evenings. The meal consists of a different appetizer, pasta dish and entree each week.

Classes will teach

Dutch oven cooking

Classes in Dutch oven cooking will be offered by Colleen Sloan, author of five Dutch oven cookbooks, at 2 p.m. daily from July 15 through July 18 at Mountain House Restaurant on Highway 20, 23 miles east of Sweet Home. The $35 tuition includes a meal, 10-inch Dutch oven and cookbook.
