APOLLO Announces Industry's First Upgradeable Color Inkjet Printers That Let Users Choose Basic or Higher Performance.

Business/High-Tech Editors

SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 29, 2000

APOLLO Consumer Products today announced the P-2100U series color inkjet printer A printer that propels droplets of ink directly onto the medium. Today, almost all inkjet printers produce color. Low-end inkjets use three ink colors (cyan, magenta and yellow), but produce a composite black that is often muddy.  -- the company's first Universal Serial Bus See USB.

)-compatible printer and the first upgradeable printing system for the market's lower end. The series lets users choose basic or higher printing performance and is designed for students, home-office users and family members of all ages.

The APOLLO P-2100U series includes the P-2100U and P-2150U printers, which are mist gray with translucent, cosmic-purple accents. The printers operate with one or two print cartridges installed, a feature found only in these APOLLO printers. The P-2100U series' upgradeable printing system allows users to do the following:

-- Use only what's needed -- printing with only a color print

cartridge or with only a black print cartridge to achieve

faster, true black printing.

-- Upgrade for better performance -- print simultaneously with

two print cartridges; either with a color and black print

cartridge or an optional photo print cartridge and color

cartridge for photo-quality output.

-- Always have a backup -- switching from a dual- to

single-print-cartridge printing mode if one cartridge runs

out of ink.

"The P-2100U series gives users with basic printing needs the option to upgrade without buying a new printer," said Mohan Garde, general manager for APOLLO. "This new capability is much like the way some sport utility vehicles This page lists sports utility vehicles currently in production (as of April 2007), as well as past models.
