APLIX Announces Issuance of US Patent 6,898,804 for Ski Pole Application of inter-mold(R) Technology; inter-mold(R) Hook Fasteners Created in Plastic Ski Pole Grips.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- APLIX, Inc. today announced the issuance of US patent number 6,898,804 that allows ski manufacturers to design a ski pole grip and glove combination that uses integrally molded hooks on a portion of the grip with a corresponding loop material on a portion of the glove. This application allows the elimination of straps on ski poles, which may reduce wrist injuries during falls; and also facilitates removal of poles from the hands when mounting chair lifts.

inter-mold(R) is a breakthrough patented technology allowing one-step injection molding injection molding

In construction, connectors between structural members. Bolted connections are used when it is necessary to fasten two elements tightly together, especially to resist shear and bending, as in column and beam connections.
directly into plastic parts simultaneously. The inter-mold(R) technology can help eliminate or reduce the material and labor costs of attaching hook material to plastic.

The inter-mold(R) technology can be used in virtually any situation where hook and loop fasteners are used today. Potential applications can be found in the automotive, healthcare, consumer goods consumer goods

Any tangible commodity purchased by households to satisfy their wants and needs. Consumer goods may be durable or nondurable. Durable goods (e.g., autos, furniture, and appliances) have a significant life span, often defined as three years or more, and

The inter-mold(R) process is compatible with a wide range of injection-molded thermoplastics. With APLIX's global expertise in the provision of closure systems, customers can benefit from the design of the optimal fastening system.

The benefits of inter-mold(R) include:

--Elimination of material cost and attachment labor

--Improved reliability and aesthetics

--Waterproof and chemical resistant

--Green process and environmentally friendly Environmentally friendly, also referred to as nature friendly, is a term used to refer to goods and services considered to inflict minimal harm on the environment.[1]

The inter-mold(R) technology is covered by a number of worldwide patents, including United States United States, officially United States of America, republic (2005 est. pop. 295,734,000), 3,539,227 sq mi (9,166,598 sq km), North America.
