API's ESP provides automatic inventory management and product replenishment services. The ESP consists of a handheld PDA/barcode scanning device See scanner.  that relies on state-of-the-art software, as well as pre-established reorder points to provide automatic product replenishment using techniques similar to Kanban Meaning "visible record" in Japanese, it is a system of notification from one process to the other in a manufacturing system. Kanban cards, which may be multicolored based on priority, are stored in a bin or container that holds the items. They describe the parts, supplier and quantity.  processes.

The functionality of the ESP system automatically tracks all product usage at customer locations by part number, work order number, employee number, aircraft tail number or any other criteria requested by the customer. Using such data, the ESP system then replenishes a customer's inventory when stocks run low and updates the customer's inventory system. The automatic nature of the ESP program relieves API customers of the burden of processing stock orders and tracking product usage, freeing resources to be more effectively used throughout the customers' organizations. Additionally, API's ESP system provides customers with a Web portal through which all managed inventory may be viewed. ESP orders can be consolidated into one monthly invoice, further reducing a customer's overhead costs overhead costs
