API Announces Veteran of Networking Industry as VP of Marketing; Former VP at Fujitsu System Technologies to Oversee API Networks.

CONCORD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 23, 2000

API (Application Programming Interface) A language and message format used by an application program to communicate with the operating system or some other control program such as a database management system (DBMS) or communications protocol. , (Alpha Processor, Inc.), a leading developer of high-performance solutions for high bandwidth and compute-intensive applications, today announced the appointment of David Rich, former vice president of Business Development of Fujitsu System Technologies, to the position of vice president of Marketing. With nearly 20 years in the networking and computing computing - computer  industries, Rich will also oversee the company's venture API Networks, the new business unit of API. (See related release.)

As head of API Networks, Rich will be directing the development of next-generation products that address the Internet bandwidth strain and provide intelligent delivery of Web content. While at Fujitsu System Technologies, Rich spearheaded the transition of a research unit into a profitable business, created a strong product and partnership base and established supplier contracts worth more than $200 million with industry leading vendors. This ability to establish a presence in emerging markets will allow Rich to build a presence in the Internet infrastructure market for API.
