The Antelope Valley
 Air Pollution Control District has honored two companies and a federal government employee with its annual awards for achievement in reducing emissions.

``By recognizing individuals and organizations who go the extra mile to reduce air pollution, the district hopes to inspire others to follow their lead in implementing innovative and effective ways of protecting air quality,'' said Air Pollution Control Oficer Chuck Fryxell.

Campbell, a founding member of the Antelope Valley Dustbusters Task Force, was recognized for his ongoing efforts to mitigate dust. Since it was formed in 1997, the task force has developed several strategies to help reduce blowing dust and stabilize erodible farm land throughout the Antelope Valley.

Campbell was nominated for the award by Sherry Lasagna, senior deputy for county Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich Michael Dennis Antonovich (born 1939 in Los Angeles, California) is a member of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors representing the Fifth District, which covers northern Los Angeles County, the Antelope, Santa Clarita, Pasadena, and parts of the San Fernando and San .

Greystone was recognized for its dust mitigation efforts during construction. The homebuilder educates its contractors about the need for dust control and also monitors their operators to ensure compliance with company policies.

Danone was honored for its nationwide fleet of 400 propane-fueled delivery trucks, including five in the Antelope Valley. The company also plans to replace 10 other local trucks with propane-fueled vehicles this month, with funding assistance by the district.
