It Is Award Time Again!

The time has come to nominate outstanding professionals in our field. Nominations are currently being sought for APAC's awards, including Professional and Student Recognition Awards, Outstanding Community Program Awards, and the Teacher of the Year (TOY) award. The TOY award has new criteria published in the last APAC APAC Australian Partnership for Advanced Computing

APAC Asia and Pacific
APAC Asian Pacific American Coalition
APAC Adapted Physical Activity Council (American Alliance for Health) 
 Action (PALAESTRA, 15(3), 17). All award guidelines may be obtained by contacting Rebecca Woodard, School of Physical Education, HP222 Ball State University, Muncie, IN 47306. TOY packets may be obtained through AAHPERD AAHPERD American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance  or by contacting Dr. Woodard. All awards and necessary supporting material must be received by January 1, 2000.

APAC AAHPERD Presentations

APAC will have nine dedicated sessions at AAHPERD 2000. The presentations include one half-day, in-depth session (Preparing Future Leaders in Adapted Physical Education Adapted physical education is a sub-discipline of physical education. It is an individualized program created for students who require a specially designed program for more than 30 days. ); four 75-minute sessions (Pro-Choice PE; Tai'Chi: Activity for Special Populations; Adapted Physical Education in the Next Millennium; and Digital Video Disc See DVD.

 for Adapted Physical Education Teachers); three 60-minute early-bird sessions (Including Special Needs Children in Youth Sports; Adapted Physical Activity Program Effectiveness Research; Don't Assume Everyone Can Benefit from General Physical Education: Remembering the IEP IEP

Articles or announcements are currently being sought for the APAC Newsletter. The Newsletter is distributed once a year to all APAC members. APENS APENS Association of Professional Engineers of Nova Scotia  Exam

The APENS Exam will be given for the fourth time this year. Please encourage all eligible teachers to take the Exam and underline the importance of national certification. The application deadline is March 1, 2000. The 2000 APENS Exam will be administered during the AAHPERD Convention in Orlando, FL, March 24, 2000, as well as nationwide, June 3, 2000. Information about the exam, study guide, and on-line application may be obtained at: http://www.twu.edu/apens/.
