 APAC, INC. ACQUIRES SOUTH CAROLINA HIGHWAY PAVING COMPANY
 ASHLAND, Ky., May 13 /PRNewswire/ -- APAC, Inc., a highway construction subsidiary of Ashland Oil, Inc. (NYSE: ASH), announced that it has completed the acquisition of Ocean Lakes Construction, Inc., a Myrtle Beach, S.C., paving firm.
 Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
 Ocean Lakes Construction is primarily engaged in private sector highway paving and grading in eastern South Carolina. The firm also operates three asphalt plants, two in Myrtle Beach and one in Florence, S.C.
 "The purchase of Ocean Lakes operations provides an excellent geographic combination with our existing public and private highway paving operations in South Carolina," said Charles F. Potts, president of APAC.
 Based in Atlanta, the APAC group of companies is the leading highway contractor in the United States. Operating in 15 states, APAC companies are major suppliers of hot-mix asphalt, ready-mix concrete, constructions aggregates and other such specialized construction materials.
