AOpen Inc. has just introduced a great reason for PC users to upgrade from conventional, old-fashioned ball or roller mouse devices to something new. The AOpen O-35 optical wheel mouse is designed for right or left handed use, sports a sleek and attractive ergonomic design -- specifically tailored to maximize the comfort of the user -- and comes with a USB USB

connector and a PS/2 adapter to accommodate most popular user equipment configurations.

AOpen's optical wheel mouse offers three-button Internet functionality with a ratcheting wheel positioned between the two top button keys that can be moved incrementally or can advance through multiple levels at the touch of a finger. Third button capability is achieved by simply depressing the wheel to activate a number of optional assignable functions. In addition to being able to record motion optically without the usual ball or rollers found in older devices, the AOpen O-35 needs no mouse pad A fabric-covered rubber pad roughly 9" square that provides a smooth surface for rolling a mouse. There are also mouse pads that provide a better surface; for example, 3M makes the Precise Mousing Surface, an ultra-thin mouse pad that is engineered to reduce friction.  to operate and can be used on almost any smooth surface.
