 today announced AOL (A division of Time Warner, Inc., New York, NY, www.aol.com) The world's largest online information service with access to the Internet, e-mail, chat rooms and a variety of databases and services.  Time Warner is the title sponsor of the 8th Annual NAMIC Vision Awards on Friday, April 12, 2002 at 6:30 p.m. at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.

The Vision Awards recognize original, multicultural cable programming including films, series and specials. Qualifying programs from participating cable networks will be honored in the following categories: Children's, Comedy, Documentary, Drama, Music/Variety, News/Informational, Best Comedic Performance, Best Dramatic Performance and Foreign Language. Other Vision Awards sponsors include CableFAX, Cahners Business Information and HBO Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBO)

Also during the gala awards ceremony, NAMIC will present The North Star Award and The Quasar Award, both honoring organizations and/or people who have made a contribution to diversity in the entertainment arena. The North Star Award will be presented to Nickelodeon Cable Network.
