HBO Documentary "IN MEMORIAM: NEW YORK CITY, 9/11/01" to Form Part

of Museum's Historical Record of September 11;

Visitors Can Contribute to "Tribute Mosaic"

The AOL Time Warner Foundation today announced a grant to the Museum of the City of New York to support the archiving of September 11 video footage.

The footage from the upcoming HBO documentary "IN MEMORIAM: NEW YORK CITY, 9/11/01" will be available as a permanent resource to historians, researchers and the public. The grant will also support the screening of the film at the Museum during the summer of 2002 as well as opportunities for museum visitors to create memorial "tiles" for an HBO Web-based initiative commemorating September 11.

"IN MEMORIAM: NEW YORK CITY, 9/11/01" draws on unprecedented access to City Hall and the staff of former Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani, as well as original visual material from still and video cameras of people in and around New York City. The documentary will be shown at the museum at 3 PM on June 8 and 30, July 20 and 21, and August 10 and 11. In addition, visitors can create and submit a personal "memorial tile" to commemorate the heroes and victims of 9/11. Memorial tiles will then become part of a "Tribute Mosaic" on the HBO Web site, which launched this week and will continue to grow as an ongoing memorial.

"IN MEMORIAM: NEW YORK CITY, 9/11/01" debuts on Sunday, May 26th at 9:00 PM EST on HBO and will also air on CNN International.

This grant represents the latest in a series of efforts from the AOL Time Warner Foundation and AOL Time Warner to support post-9/11 relief and recovery efforts in New York City, which includes approximately $7 million in contributions. Other recent initiatives and organizations supported by AOL Time Warner and the AOL Time Warner Foundation have included "Tribute in the Light," The After-School Corporation, the purchase of a fire engine for Engine Company 23 and long-term mental health programs to help those still suffering from the trauma of September 11.
