AOL (A division of Time Warner, Inc., New York, NY, www.aol.com) The world's largest online information service with access to the Internet, e-mail, chat rooms and a variety of databases and services.  Time Warner today announced that it has created the AOL Time Warner Global Marketing Solutions group and named Myer Berlow as its President. Global Marketing Solutions will drive the development and roll-out of the company-wide Advertising Council's cross-platform (software, hardware) cross-platform - A term that describes a language, software application or hardware device that works on more than one system platform (e.g. Unix, Microsoft Windows, Macintosh). E.g. Netscape Navigator, Java.  advertising and marketing initiatives to benefit partners worldwide.

Global Marketing Solutions, at the direction of the Company's Advertising Council, will create total marketing solutions for advertising partners that take full advantage of all of AOL Time Warner's brands. It will also provide support for each division's cross-brand initiatives for its existing and new media partners.

The Global Marketing Solutions group will accelerate the momentum of AOL Time Warner's Advertising Council to coordinate these total marketing solutions. Representing the marketing and advertising sales teams across the Company, the Council ensures top-tier planning and coordination across the core divisions to deliver the audiences each partner wants among the Company's more than 135 million paying subscribers and millions more of consumers globally. These solutions include options ranging from technology development and special print features to online promotions and television sponsorships.

To date, the Company has provided total marketing solutions to nearly 20 partners, in almost every case extending an advertising agreement with one division to multiple divisions. These partners include:

Robert Friedman to Become President, AOL Interactive Marketing

America Online also announced today that Robert Friedman will become President of America Online Interactive Marketing. In this position, Mr. Friedman will oversee America Online's Interactive Marketing division, with the responsibility to grow the company's advertising and e-commerce e-commerce, commerce conducted over the Internet, most often via the World Wide Web. E-commerce can apply to purchases made through the Web or to business-to-business activities such as inventory transfers.  revenue, develop strategies to help advertisers and marketers make the most of the online medium's potential to transform their businesses and ensure that the Company provides the best possible service and value to its partners. Mr. Friedman will report to Barry Schuler Barry Martin Schuler (born September 7, 1953 in Jersey City, New Jersey) is American Internet pioneer, perhaps best known for making the Internet easy to use consumers while working for America Online for seven years, and being the CEO for three years.  and will represent AOL on the Advertising Council.
