Awards. The MovieFone Moviegoer Awards reflect what actual moviegoers choose as their favorite films and performances of 1999. The nominations are the result of a nationwide poll of moviegoers conducted on Moviefone.com during January.

Moviegoers across the country can cast their votes for the MovieFone Moviegoer Awards from February 8 - 22, 2000. Voting is free of charge and available on both AOL MovieFone (known by its familiar local telephone numbers, such as 777-FILM) and Moviefone.com. They will also have easy access to the voting through several other AOL brands, including CompuServe, AOL's Digital City and AOL's &uot;My Calendar.&uot; The winners will be announced on February 29th.

The MovieFone Moviegoer Awards differ from other movie awards in three major ways. First, they are voted upon by avid moviegoers - those who actually pay to see the films and whose opinion is not represented by any other award. Second, since AOL MovieFone and Moviefone.com serve more than 3 million users each week, these awards tap a much larger sample of voters than any other award. Third, each voter is prequalified based upon which nominated films he has actually seen and votes are weighted accordingly.
