As part of the agreement, AOL Latin America will promote ICQ through its services, Web properties, partners, and co-branded AOL software and installation CDs. ICQ's robust instant messaging and wireless offerings can be easily launched or downloaded by AOL Latin America members via the existing ICQ icon on the AOL toolbar The AOL Toolbar is made by AOL for Internet Explorer and Firefox.

ICQ will promote AOL Latin America's services in Brazilian, Mexican and Argentine versions of its software through its rich promotional capabilities. Additionally, ICQ and AOL Latin America will develop ICQ-AOL Latin America co-branded customized versions of the ICQ software which will also include the automatic installation of AOL desktop icons during ICQ downloads in Brazil, Mexico and Argentina. This will provide ICQ's registered users in Latin America with a convenient way to sign up for AOL services.
