AOL Latin America and Big Entertainment (Nasdaq: BIGE) today announced a multi-year commerce and content agreement under which BigE's movie Web site, Hollywood.com, will be an Anchor Tenant in the Entertainment Channels of AOL branded services in Latin America and BigE's e-commerce studio store, bigE.com, will be prominently positioned in the Shopping Channels Shopping channels are television specialty channels that present shopping related content, particularly for home shopping enthusiasts.

 of AOL branded services in Latin America. In addition, AOL Latin America will become a shareholder in Big Entertainment.

This agreement will bring Hollywood.com, a leading movie Web site, to Latin America. The service will include movie trailers, reviews, contests and other popular content from the Hollywood.com site. The e-commerce area will feature products from bigE.com, one of the world's largest online movie studio stores.

AOL Latin America will be launching AOL and CompuServe branded Internet online services in Latin America beginning with the AOL Brazil service, scheduled to be available by the end of the year. Brazil is the fastest growing nation in Latin America with an estimated 160 million people and is one of the most important Internet markets in the world. Hollywood.com and bigE.com content will be translated into Portuguese for the Brazilian market and into Spanish for subsequent launches in Mexico and Argentina and other parts of Latin America.

BigE recently announced that it has signed an agreement in principle with CBS (Cell Broadcast Service) See cell broadcast.  for CBS to receive an initial 35 percent ownership interest (with warrants to purchase an additional 5 percent ownership position) in Hollywood.com, bigE.com and CinemaSource in exchange for $100 million of promotion and content support over a period of seven years. Completion of the CBS transaction is subject to finalizing transaction documents and customary closing conditions.

As also previously announced, BigE has entered into an agreement in principle to acquire the motion picture Internet and data properties of media industry analyst Paul Kagan Assets to be purchased include pkbaseline.com, one of the largest and most authoritative databases of movie and TV information.
