Competing against the world's biggest advertising agencies as well as other Internet companies, AOL Brazil distinguished itself as the only Internet service provider Internet service provider (ISP)

to win an award in the Cyber category at the 2003 Cannes Lions Festival. AOL Adventure, the winning entry, promotes AOL Brazil's special area on Brazil's ecotourism, using an interesting and fun oriented interactive format. The site allows users to view videos and listen to audio of ecotourism destinations, participate in interactive games that allow users to travel through Brazil's multitude of ecological destinations, and to engage in educational programs on ecotourism.

The award is especially significant to AOL Brazil since it was its internal employee team, not an outside agency as is typically the case that won this distinguished award. The AOL Latin America Interactive Marketing team provides advertising promotional plans and creatives for clients utilizing AOL Latin America's services in Brazil, Argentina and Mexico and on the AOL-branded service in Puerto Rico.

"We are honored to have been selected as the winners of this important advertising industry award and to have the excellent work of our very talented team recognized by such a respected panel of experts," said Eduardo Hauser, Executive Vice President of AOL Services for AOL Latin America. "AOL Adventure truly provides our members with an interactive experience that is both interesting and entertaining. Our teams really know how to combine creative and messaging elements to generate successful online promotions," he added.

In addition to AOL Adventure, the company also submitted AOL Travel, a promotion created to publicize the Travel Channel (Canal Viagem) on the web pages of AOL Brazil. This entry was "short-listed" for the Cyber category.
