AOL BUYS STAKE IN VOICE RECOGNITION.


AOL (A division of Time Warner, Inc., New York, NY, www.aol.com) The world's largest online information service with access to the Internet, e-mail, chat rooms and a variety of databases and services.  has joined AT&T and Net2Phone, Inc., in purchasing a minority share in SpeechWorks, a participant in the fast growing market for voice access to online services.

AOL will purchase $5 million in SpeechWorks common stock with an option to purchase up to 4% of the company.
