AOL's month-long "Celebrity You've Got Mail The audio announcement heard millions of times per day by AOL users. The voice was recorded by Elwood "El" Edwards in 1989 at the suggestion of his wife Karen, who worked in customer service for Quantum Computer Services (before Quantum became AOL). " promotion continued this week by revealing the names and faces behind eight of the 32 mystery celebrity voices sharing their version of "Welcome," "You've Got Mail," and "Goodbye." Millions of consumers to date have logged on to check out the promotion, with the majority of players guessing the voices correctly.

Voice #9 - Tony Hawk, the patriarch of the half-pipe told members "Dude, You've Got Mail!" on May 22. (Approximately 83% guessed correctly.)
