In contrast, the largest pro-Zeanah contributions in the filing period were from Yvon and Malinde Chouinard of Ventura, who each contributed $5,000 to Residents for Slow Growth/Stop the Recall Against Elois Zeanah.

The Yes! campaign spent $34,715 since July 1, bringing the total spent on the campaign to oust oust

Campaigns and candidates had to file the statements before 5 p.m. Thursday.

With just more than a month before the vote, Parks expects Zeanah's opponents to step up their efforts.

``The real money's going to come in the next 5-1/2 weeks,'' Parks said. ``Our city's just going to be bombarded.''

CAREZ also will try to get its message out, but will not spend anywhere near the amount that the Yes! group has, she said.

On Nov. 4, voters will decide whether to keep Zeanah in office. If they vote to remove her, they then can choose to replace her with one of three candidates.

In contrast to the high-stakes campaigns being waged, candidate Davis Seagal has submitted a form declaring his intentions to spend less than $1,000 on his bid to replace Zeanah.

Of the two other candidates, Dennis Gillette has collected the most, with $1,595, while Roni C. Fenzke's campaign has collected $1,216.
