ANTEON AWARDED AMENDMENTS TO SUPPORT RANGE INSTRUMENTATION PROGRAMS.Anteon International Corporation (NYSE: ANT) has received three amendments to its U.S. Army Simulation, Training, and Instrumentation instrumentation /in·stru·men·ta·tion/ (in?strdbobr-men-ta´shun) 1. the use of instruments; work performed with instruments. 2. a group of instruments used for a specific purpose. Command (STRICOM STRICOM - Simulation, Training & Instrumentation Command (US Army)) contract to support combat training range instrumentation programs. The estimated value of the contract amendments is $9.3 million. Under these amendments, Anteon will design and develop a prototype of the Digital Multi-Purpose Range Complex (DPMRC) located at Fort Hood Fort Hood, U.S. army post, 209,000 acres (84,580 hectares), central Tex., near Killeen; est. 1942 on the site of old Fort Gates and named for Confederate Gen. John Hood. It is one of the army's largest installations and a major employer of the area., Texas. The DPMRC is being developed to meet U.S. Army current and future combat training, qualification requirements. In addition, Anteon will provide instrumentation support for the Military Operations on Urban Terrain (MOUT MOUT - military operations on urbanized terrain (US DoD)) site at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. These instrumented sites replicate real-life urban battlefield environments as they exist in third-world countries. Anteon developed STRICOM's first site at Fort Polk Fort Polk, U.S. army post, 200,000 acres (80,937 hectares), SW La.; est. 1941 and named for the Rev. Leonidas Polk. It is a major army warm-weather training center., Louisiana, a facility containing more than 3 million feet of fiber optic cable connected to a centralized, integrated control system. Joseph M.
