ANTEON AWARDED $9.9M OFFICE OF NAVAL RESEARCH CONTRACT.


Anteon Corporation has been awarded a five-year contract with a potential value of $9.9M, to support the U.S. Navy Office of Naval Research The U.S. Office of Naval Research (ONR), headquartered in Arlington, Virginia (Ballston), is the office within the U.S. Department of the Navy that coordinates, executes, and promotes the science and technology programs of the U.S.  (ONR ONR Office of Naval Research

Under this contract, Anteon will provide advanced research and development support in the areas of acoustics acoustics (ək`stĭks) [Gr.,=the facts about hearing], the science of sound, including its production, propagation, and effects.  and underwater shock. Anteon's Systems Engineering Group will perform the work.

The contract supports work being performed by ONR's Ship Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical Science and Technology Division. The 19 tasks included in the contract are designed to yield advancements in acoustic and shock analysis methods and experimental techniques Experimental research designs are used for the controlled testing of causal processes. The general procedure is one or more independent variables are manipulated to determine their effect on a dependent variable.  as well as to develop an improved understanding of the physical mechanisms governing platform stealth and survivability sur·viv·a·ble
