ANTELOPE VALLEY TRANSIT AUTHORITY TAKES ON A NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR.

LANCASTER - The Antelope Valley Transit Authority Antelope Valley Transit Authority is the transit agency serving the cities of Palmdale and Lancaster and their suburbs. Antelope Valley Transit Authority is operated under contract by Veolia Transport, and is affiliated and offers connecting services with Metro and Metrolink.  has named Randy Floyd as its executive director.

Formerly the bus agency's planning manager, Floyd had been interim executive director since June and was offered the permanent position at Monday's board meeting.

``He's homegrown. Randy knows this agency inside and out, and we feel he is the best man for the job,'' said Lancaster Vice Mayor Henry Hearns, the AVTA AVTA Advanced Vehicle Testing Activity  board chairman.

Floyd had been the AVTA's planning manager for three years. Floyd previously worked for the city of Palmdale as a senior analyst and represented the city on the bus agency's Technical Advisory Committee for AVTA.

Floyd also worked for the Southern California Southern California, also colloquially known as SoCal, is the southern portion of the U.S. state of California.
