Hosted by the half-century-old Allied Arts Association, the exhibition opens with a free public reception to meet the artists from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Allied Arts Cedar Centre, 44857 Cedar Ave. The works will be on display until Oct. 4. This is the association's third show in its gallery, which opened in April in what was Lancaster's Depression-era original civic center. The art group bought the center in 1994 from the city, and has spent the past three years refurbishing its five buildings, which once contained the Antelope Valley's courthouse, jail, health clinic and sheriff's station.
