LANCASTER - The Lancaster Parks, Recreation and Arts Department needs volunteers for the Fifth Annual California Poppy Festival.

Volunteers can work five to 20 hours during the festival April 13 and 14, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Lancaster City Park, 43011 North 10th St. West.

The festival features brilliant wildflowers, a huge craft fair, children's carnival games and entertainment, annual Earth Day events with environmental displays, two stages of family entertainment, and helicopter rides and shuttle buses to the California Poppy Reserve.
