Antelope Valley College Antelope Valley College is a comprehensive community college located in Lancaster, California, USA. It is operated by the Antelope Valley Community College District, with a primary service area of 1,945 square miles covering portions of Los Angeles and Kern counties.  coach Jackie Lott is directing the eighth annual Hot Shot Youth Basketball camp for boys and girls boys and girls

The camp runs in three sessions. The first session is Oct. 25 at Quartz Hill High School Quartz Hill High School is a public, co-educational high school located in Lancaster, California. Founded in 1964, it is the third oldest comprehensive high school in the Antelope Valley High School District (AVHSD). . The second and third sessions are to be held at Antelope Valley College on Nov. 1 and 8.

The session for boys and girls ages 6-10 is running from noon to 2 p.m. and the session for ages 11-14 is running from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The cost is $45 for all three two-hour sessions.

Each Hot Shot participant receives a free T-shirt. There are also awards for the winners of various competitions.

Racing: Results from the Super Ford Weekend held Sept. 6-7 at the Los Angeles County Raceway Los Angeles County Raceway (or "LACR") was a motorsport facility in Southern California. On Sunday, DeDe Roth (Lancaster) won the Ford Trophy category. The 5.0 Street Tire category was won by Mel Roth (Lancaster) and Luke Hutton (Canyon Country) was the runner-up.

Softball: Spots are open for players 16 and older in the adult softball leagues. Registration is at the Castaic Sports Complex.

The team fee is $300, plus $10 per game for umpires.

Leagues include men's play on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Women's teams play Tuesdays and coed teams play Sundays and Thursdays.

Soccer: The Santa Clarita Valley The Santa Clarita Valley is the valley of the Santa Clara River in Southern California. It stretches through Los Angeles County and Ventura County. Its main population center is the city of Santa Clarita. The valley was part of the 48,612-acre (19,672.  United Tidal Waves girls' soccer team is holding sign-ups.

Players must have been born after Aug. 1, 1987. Practices are Wednesdays and Fridays at Santa Clarita Elementary School.
