LAKE LOS ANGELES Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  - Wilsona School District board member Frank Donaldson has announced his resignation, effective Aug. 16, because he is moving out of the area, officials said.

Board members will appoint a replacement for Donaldson and will likely seek applicants and make the appointment in August. Details on the application process will be announced after the board's June 20 meeting.

Donaldson has been a board member since 1989. His term will expire in December 1997.

Youth to be tried as adult in shooting

SYLMAR - A 17-year-old Inglewood boy was found unfit Friday to be tried as a juvenile in the shooting of a mother of two, who was accosted ac·cost

The teen-ager demanded money, deputies said. When the woman told them she had no money, she was shot once through her abdomen.

Air Force clears B-2 for flight duty

WASHINGTON - The Air Force announced Friday that one B-2 stealth bomber was cleared to fly the previous day, six days after Whiteman Air Force Base's fleet of 10 B-2s was ordered to stop flying.

The one B-2 that has been cleared was flown from Whiteman Air Force Base Whiteman Air Force Base (Whiteman AFB) is a base of the United States Air Force in Johnson County, Missouri, United States. It is near the town of Knob Noster, Missouri. The population was 3,814 at the 2000 census.  in Missouri to the Northrop Grumman Corp. B-2 plant at Palmdale to begin a scheduled retrofit.

A.V. schools plan community forums

LANCASTER - The Antelope Valley Union High School District The Antelope Valley Union High School District (A.V.U.H.S.D.) is located in the Antelope Valley area of California, in northern Los Angeles County.

The district includes eight public high schools, one trade school, and two continuation high schools in the cities of Palmdale
 will hold a series of community forums as part of its effort to create a curriculum that stresses ``rigor rigor /rig·or/ (rig´er) [L.] chill; rigidity.

Forums are scheduled from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Lancaster City Hall's emergency operations center The Emergency Operations Center, or EOC, is a central command and control facility responsible for carrying out the principles of emergency preparedness and emergency management, or disaster management functions at a strategic level in an emergency situation, and ensuring ; from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Challenger Middle School in Lake Los Angeles; from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Lancaster City Hall's emergency operations center; from 7 to 9 p.m. May 29 at the Palmdale Cultural Center; from 7 to 9 p.m. May 30 at Mesa Intermediate School, Palmdale; from 7 to 9 p.m. June 3 at the Palmdale Playhouse; and from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. June 3 at Lane Park recreation center in Quartz Hill.

The forums are being sponsored by each school. Forums with trained facilitators from the district are also available to community-based clubs, organizations and interest groups. For more information, call Dr. Mikie Loughridge at (805) 948-7655. Ext. 241.
