ANTELOPE VALLEY: BRIEFLY : WATER DISTRICT HOLDING CONTESTS.


PALMDALE - As part of Water Awareness Month in May, the Palmdale Water District is sponsoring a poster contest for third-, fourth-, fifth- and sixth-grade classrooms and a jingle contest for seventh- and eighth-grade classrooms.

Poster entries must incorporate this year's theme, ``How Do You and Your Environment Affect the Water?'' in the design. Jingle entries must relate to the theme and incorporate Palmdale Water District. The deadline is 5 p.m. May 17.

Monetary prizes will be awarded and an overall grand-prize winner will receive a pizza party. Teachers interested in participating should contact the district office.
