Buses will depart the city's park-and-ride lot at Avenue K-8 and 10th Street West at 10:30 a.m. and return at approximately 5 p.m. Tickets are $12.

Young thespians to do Tolkien tale

PALMDALE - Palmdale's inaugural Summer Theatre Camp will perform J.R.R. Tolkien's ``The Hobbit'' at 8 p.m. Friday and Aug. 2 and at 2 p.m. Aug. 3 at the Palmdale Playhouse, 38334 10th St. East.

The performances will cap a month of theatre study by 40 youngsters. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for senior citizens, military, students and youngsters.
