Muroc district extends superintendent's pact

NORTH EDWARDS - The Muroc Joint Unified School District A unified school district is a school district which includes both primary school (kindergarten through middle school or junior high) and high school (grades 9-12). In Illinois, these districts are called unit school districts.  board unanimously voted to extend the contract of Superintendent Chet Francisco for two years to November 1999, officials said Thursday.

Trustees voted at Thursday's meeting to extend the contract, which currently expires in November.

Francisco has been with the district since 1993, officials said.

``He's been a major asset to the district,'' board President Steve Wiser said.
