ANTELOPE VALLEY: BRIEFLY : REGISTRATION OPENS FOR FISHING CONTEST.

LANCASTER - The annual Fall Classic Adult Fishing Derby will be held from 7 to 11 a.m. Nov. 9 at Apollo Park, 4555 W. Ave. G.

The fishing derby is open to anyone 16 or older who has a valid California fishing license.

Advance registration has opened and the fee, $15, can be paid at the park; S & S Home Furnishings, 706 W. Lancaster Blvd.; London Pipe and Gifts, 1120 W. Ave. K; B & M Fishing Box, 4527 W. Ave. L; and Karen's Kitchen 3, 43943 Sierra Highway.

Registration fee will be raised to $20 for those who wait to the day of the derby.

Proceeds from the derby will used for recreational programs at county parks in north Los Angeles County.

Edwards calls off Vendors Day event

EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE - The High Desert Vendors Day scheduled for next Wednesday has been canceled because of low advance registration. Full refunds will be mailed out. A new date has not been set.
