QUARTZ HILL - About 20 youngsters were evacuated without injury from a school bus Tuesday afternoon after the bus caught fire, officials said.

After getting the children off the bus, the driver started an automatic extinguishing system that sprayed a dry chemical into the engine compartment. That quenched quench

A.V. man in hospital after home invasion

The unidentified man told paramedics that he was shot in the chest after two intruders broke into his home in the 38600 block of Lilac View Avenue shortly after 2 p.m. Monday.

Neighbors said that the man was baby sitting his sister-in-law's children when the assailants approached the door and demanded money. When the man said he had no money, he was shot. The assailants drove off in a light blue Honda.
