ROSAMOND - Kern County sheriff's deputies arrested a 36-year-old Rosamond man Thursday who they believe is a local methamphetamine supplier, officials said.

Victor Strucke, formerly of Palmdale, was arrested shortly after 7 a.m. at a Rosamond Boulevard mobile-home park.

Albert Jurgen, 21, was shot in the hip Dec. 16 when he exchanged gunfire with a rival gang member in front of a house where a teen-age girl's birthday party was being celebrated, authorities said. Jurgen was being held without bail and will be arraigned May 17 in Lancaster Superior Court.

Jurgen's attorney contends his client fired in self-defense after the other shooter, Thomas Dedmon, fired first. Prosecutors say Jurgen was the aggressor by pulling out his gun first, and Dedmon fired back in response.

3 teens arrested in car thefts

LITTLEROCK - With help from the public, sheriff's deputies arrested three teen-agers they believe have been stealing cars from long-term parking lots, deputies reported.

Segovia Moon, 19, of Littlerock and two juveniles whose name were not released due to their ages were arrested in their Littlerock home shortly after 7 p.m. Wednesday.

According to officials, the three have been stealing cars over several months from lots off the Antelope Valley Freeway The Antelope Valley Freeway is a freeway in Los Angeles and Kern counties in southern California. 3 youths arrested in school burglary

LANCASTER - Three Lancaster youths who took candy, soda, pencils and calculators from a local elementary school were arrested after confessing, sheriff's officials said.

The trio, two 15-year-olds and one 17-year-old, are suspected of breaking into Park View School between 1 and 8:30 a.m. April 21.

They were booked on suspicion of burglary and released to their parents.

Ride planned to unveil trail

LANCASTER - A trail ride will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday on a new horse trail at the Saddleback Butte State Park Saddleback Butte State Park is a state park located in southern California's Antelope Valley.
