ANTELOPE VALLEY: BRIEFLY : LITTLEROCK CLEANUP DAY ANNOUNCED.


LITTLEROCK - The Littlerock Town Council will host a Community Cleanup Day on Saturday.

People can bring trash to 87th Street East starting at 8 a.m. Saturday, and continuing until the trash bins are full.

The dumping fee is $10 per pickup load. No hazardous waste such as tires, paint or oil will be accepted. The cleanup trash day is for Littlerock residents within the 93543 ZIP code. For information, call (805) 944-3349.

Deputies probe pair of home robberies

PALMDALE - Sheriff's deputies are investigating the second of two home invasion robberies on the same street.

A Palmdale man said two men armed with guns entered his apartment about 9:30 a.m. Thursday in the 38000 block of 11th Street East and robbed him of $400 with which he intended to pay his rent.

Early Tuesday, a woman who lived in the adjacent apartment building said two men had broken down her front door, pointed a gun at her head after finding her hiding in the bathroom and stolen an undetermined amount of cash from her purse.

One man was arrested minutes after the Tuesday morning robbery.

Lancaster resident arrested in pot bust

LANCASTER - A Lancaster man was arrested after sheriff's deputies found a pound of marijuana - valued at $600 on the street - in a house in the 45600 block of Fern Avenue.

Andrew Maass, 29, was booked on suspicion of possession of marijuana for sale, deputies said. He was being held at the Lancaster Sheriff's Station in lieu of $35,000 bail.
