Quartz Hill Library to train adult tutors

QUARTZ HILL - Through a grant from the State Literacy Resource Center, the Quartz Hill Library Literacy Program will expand tutoring services to help adults with dyslexia dyslexia (dĭslĕk`sēə), in psychology, a developmental disability in reading or spelling, generally becoming evident in early schooling. To a dyslexic, letters and words may appear reversed, e.g. .

A tutor-training workshop, focusing on working with adults with dyslexia, will be presented from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 3 and Aug. 10 at the library, 42018 50th St. W. Volunteers, who are required to attend both sessions, will be matched with adult students.
