ANTELOPE VALLEY: BRIEFLY : DEPUTIES IDENTIFY BODY FOUND AT STORE.


LITTLEROCK - Sheriff's deputies have identified the 55-year-old Littlerock man who was stabbed to death during an apparent robbery behind a convenience store Monday night sheriff's officials said.

Lloyd Gay Hunter was discovered dead at 5:45 a.m. Tuesday by the owner of the store at 90th Street East and Avenue S.

Hunter, who walked with crutches and wore a leg brace, was stabbed once in the chest and his body dumped in a pile of trash near a Dumpster behind the store, officials said.

While officials believe the motive for the attack was robbery they are still trying to determine what - if anything - was taken. Hunter was found still wearing two rings.

CHP Officer Miguel Siordia said Snabb's 1991 Mitsubishi pickup truck crossed into the westbound traffic lane and collided with a 1984 Honda Accord driven by Schoenfeld, who was treated and released from a hospital. Muth, Schoenfeld's passenger, was admitted to Antelope Valley Hospital.

PALMDALE - A 12-year-old bicyclist was attacked and bitten by a dog Sunday evening, according to a sheriff's report.

According to a sheriff's report, Robert Wilson was visiting relatives in the 3500 block of Avenue Q when he fell off a bicycle in front of a neighbor's home and was bitten by a dog on his right arm.

Neighbors said the dog must have gotten lose and ran from the house, deputies said. The dog was seized by animal control officers.

LANCASTER - A Lancaster man was sentenced Tuesday to seven years in prison in the stabbing death of a friend in a dispute over $300.

Guy Carlson, 44, pleaded no contest to voluntary manslaughter in the Dec. 30 slaying of 53-year-old Dennis Earhart at Earhart's duplex apartment in the 45300 block of Sierra Highway.

Carlson told investigators that he and the victim were drinking and using rock cocaine before the 3:30 a.m. stabbing.
