ANTELOPE VALLEY: BRIEFLY : COMMITTEE VOTES FOR B-2 PRODUCTION.


PALMDALE - The House National Security Committee approved $350 million Thursday to keep the B-2 stealth bomber production line open.

The funding, being sought as part of a plan to build at least nine more bombers, was approved as part of the committee's 1998 Defense Authorization Bill. A vote by the House of Representatives could come within the next two to three weeks, said Armando Azarloza, spokesman for Rep. Howard ``Buck'' McKeon, R-Santa Clarita.

Northrop Grumman Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) is an aerospace and defense conglomerate that is the result of the 1994 purchase of Grumman by Northrop. The company is the third largest defense contractor for the U.S. , the prime contractor of the B-2, estimates it would cost $9.3 billion to build the nine aircraft over a six-year period.

Palmdale council approves city park

PALMDALE - The City Council approved spending $1.1 million to turn a former commercial strip along Sierra Highway Sierra Highway is a road in Southern California, United States.
