 started a small fire Thursday that blacked out a downtown Acton neighborhood, officials said.

LAKE LOS ANGELES Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  - A 17-year-old boy is a suspect in a brutal home invasion robbery last November in which a woman was beaten with a chair leg, sheriff's officials said Thursday.

The boy, whose name has not been released because of his age, is already in custody at central Juvenile Hall in Los Angeles on unrelated charges, officials said.

The 47-year-old woman was beaten on her head, arms and face by an intruder who awakened her about 6:40 a.m. Nov. 14 in her Mosedale Avenue home, then threatened her with a knife and choked her with a telephone cord. The intruder stole her van and a purse containing $20.
