 Officer Doug Sweeney said the woman, whose name was withheld pending family notification, died instantly when her car hit the truck head on.

Sweeney said he did not know if alcohol was a cause of the accident, but said the autopsy would determine that.

Bulky-trash pickup slated for Palmdale

PALMDALE - Palmdale Disposal will pick up bulky items such as furniture and appliances for free through Friday on their customers' regular trash pickup days.

Items must be placed at the curb by 6 a.m. on the customer's pickup day. The service is for Palmdale residents only.
