ANTELOPE VALLEY: BRIEFLY : LAKE HUGHES WOMAN FOUND DEAD IN CRASH.

LAKE HUGHES - A 43-year-old Lake Hughes woman whose compact car ran off Munz Ranch Road after failing to negotiate a curve was found dead 12 hours later, pinned beneath the car, a California Highway Patrol spokesman said.

The woman, whose name was not released, was driving a 1986 Ford Escort south on Munz Ranch Road one mile south of Lancaster Road at 10 p.m. Monday when she came upon two curves - one swerving to the left and another swerving back to the right.

``She made the one to the left and continued straight,'' said CHP Officer Miguel Siordia. ``Her vehicle then hit a dirt embankment, rolled, ejecting her before landing on its wheels and pinning her under her vehicle.''

The car was found Tuesday morning by a Los Angeles County Roads Department employee, said Siordia.

Teen faces charges of attempted murder

LANCASTER - Attempted murder charges were filed Tuesday against a 17-year-old Inglewood boy in the shooting of a mother of two, who was accosted outside her Lancaster town home.

Demarie Mackey also faces charges of attempted robbery and assault with a deadly weapon. Mackey was found unfit Friday to be tried as a juvenile. He is scheduled to be arraigned today in Antelope Municipal Court.

According to deputies, the teen-ager shot the 38-year-old real estate agent at 10:40 p.m. March 24 in the 43300 block of 32nd Street West after he and a second person approached her as she was removing her vacuum cleaner from her car. The teen-ager demanded money, deputies said. When the woman told them she had no money, she was shot once through her abdomen. The second assailant is still at large.
