ANT Strengthens Leadership with Key Appointments of Hoskin as CTO and ARM VP MacKay as Non-Executive Director.

ANT Limited, a leading provider of embedded communication software for consumer electronics, Internet devices and eCommerce products, has announced a significant strengthening of its senior management team as part of the company's strategy to aggressively expand its Internet device software business.

Dr. Jonathan Hoskin, formerly of Insignia Corp. (Nasdaq:INSG INSG International Nickel Study Group ), has been appointed as chief technology officer, and David MacKay David MacKay and David Mackay can refer to more than one person:
  • David MacKay (soldier), a soldier, and winner of the Victoria Cross.

, of ARM Holdings Plc (LSE LSE - Language Sensitive Editor :ARM) (Nasdaq:ARMHY), joins as a non-executive director A non-executive director (NED, also NXD) or outside director is a member of the board of directors of a company who does not form part of the executive management team. He or she is not an employee of the company or affiliated with it in any other way. .

With his extensive knowledge and experience of the industry, Hoskin's principal role will be to lead development and deliver ANT's product roadmap. As a non-executive director, MacKay joins the ANT board of directors, bringing his skills and experience in business and legal fields, coupled with his solid background in new technology.

Prior to joining ANT, Hoskin was with Insignia Solutions, as CTO (Chief Technical Officer) The executive responsible for the technical direction of an organization. See CIO and salary survey.  for three years and senior engineering manager for six years. In his position as CTO, Hoskin led a team of more than 40 software engineers and built Jeode, the company's flagship product, from scratch.

MacKay will retain his current position as Executive VP and General counsel at ARM, joining the ANT board to advise on business development and growth issues. At ARM, he has been instrumental in managing the company's growth from start-up to IPO (Initial Public Offering) The first time a company offers shares of stock to the public. While not a computer term per se, many founders, employees and insiders of computer companies have found this acronym more exciting than any tech term they ever heard.  and beyond, and he brings considerable experience to ANT in establishing and growing an international licensing business.

Hoskin holds a bachelor of arts degree in mathematics from the University of Warwick In the 1960s and 1970s, Warwick had a reputation as a politically radical institution.[3] More recently, the University has been seen as a favoured institution of the British New Labour government. , a Mathematical Tripos Part III distinction from Cambridge University and a doctorate in mathematics from Oxford University. He is currently a member of the Java Micro Edition Executive Committee (part of the new Java Community Process Sun's system for allowing third parties to submit requests for new features to Java. MacKay has a bachelor of arts degree in comparative American studies from the University of Warwick and qualified at the College of Law, Chancery Lane, London. He is currently a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales England and Wales are both constituent countries of the United Kingdom, that together share a single legal system: English law. Legislatively, England and Wales are treated as a single unit (see State (law)) for the conflict of laws.  and a member of the International Bar Association.
