ANSYS Inc. reports $5.6 million contract with General Electric; GE leverages total solution advantages offered by ANSYS Inc.

) today announced its expanding relationship with General Electric (GE) by formalizing a strategic $5.6 million enterprise-wide contract.

GE, a longtime ANSYS ANSYS Analysis System  Inc. customer, selected ANSYS(R) software as its preferred design analysis and optimization solution.

According to the contract, ANSYS will provide additional ANSYS licenses for distribution throughout GE worldwide with associated maintenance and support for the duration of the contract. GE also will obtain licenses of the ANSYS Connection for EDS (Electronic Data Systems, Plano, TX, www.eds.com) Founded in 1962 by H. Ross Perot (independent candidate for the President of the U.S. in 1992), EDS is the largest outsourcing and data processing services organization in the country.  Unigraphics CAD software. Customer support will be primarily provided by ANSYS support distributor Computer-Aided Engineering Associates. The contract also provides for technical training opportunities. In addition, General Electric will become a member of the ANSYS Technical Review Board and Quality and Verification Program.

According to the ANSYS contract with General Electric, ANSYS will establish an ANSYS/GE webpage to enable GE engineers to communicate with other GE engineers, as well as with ANSYS technical development. This effort will assist GE engineers develop better products as well as foster an on-going technical dialogue between GE and ANSYS for the mutual benefit of both parties.
