ANNUAL RUN-WALK TO AID FOOD PANTRY.

SANTA CLARITA Santa Clarita, city (1990 pop. 110,642), Los Angeles co., S Calif., suburb 30 mi (48 km) NW of downtown Los Angeles, on the Santa Clara River; inc. 1987. Situated in the Santa Clara valley and nearby canyons, Santa Clarita includes the former towns of Canyon Country,  - The Santa Clarita Food Pantry will hold its annual 5K Run Against Hunger on Sunday to raise money to feed the community's needy.

The run and walk will start at 9 a.m. at Newhall Park and follow the South Fork South Fork may refer to:

 Trail. The event is sanctioned by the Southern California Southern California, also colloquially known as SoCal, is the southern portion of the U.S. state of California. Centered on the cities of Los Angeles and San Diego, Southern California is home to nearly 24 million people and is the nation's second most populated region,  Track and Field Association.

Late registration will begin at 8 a.m. and the cost is $15 for seniors and for entrants under 12, and $20 for adults.

``This is a great way for the community to come together for a good time and to share their support for the Santa Clarita Valley The Santa Clarita Valley is the valley of the Santa Clara River in Southern California. It stretches through Los Angeles County and Ventura County. Its main population center is the city of Santa Clarita. The valley was part of the 48,612-acre (19,672.  Food Pantry,'' said Ellen Cutler, race chairwoman.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Food Pantry, headquartered in Newhall. The pantry serves about 2,000 people, providing groceries balanced for nutrition to families in need.

The pantry also serves about 100 senior citizens once a month and provides groceries to seniors who are homebound homeĀ·bound

About 60 volunteers run the pantry, which was established in 1986 by a small church group.
