ANNUAL RODEO FEATURES DOWNTOWN CATTLE DRIVE.

LANCASTER - Urban cowboys will drive cattle through downtown streets as part of the Antelope Valley Fairground's Showdown Rodeo.

More than 290 competitors are signed up for tonight and Saturday's rodeo competitions.

Rodeo events start at 7:30 p.m. tonight and Saturday at the fairgrounds n. pl. 1. same as fairground. , 155 E. Ave. I.

Starting about 11 a.m. Saturday, about 50 people on horseback will drive a couple dozen longhorn The code name for the Windows Vista operating system. After the client version was renamed "Vista" in 2005, Longhorn referred to the server version until it was officially named Windows Server 2008 in May of 2007. See Windows Vista.  steers from the Lancaster City Hall parking lot to the Antelope Valley Fairgrounds.

The cattle drive, which is an annual event, travels along Lancaster Boulevard from Fern Avenue to Division Street, then north to the fairgrounds.

A chili cook-off and barbecue contest starts at noon Saturday at the fairgrounds. Admission and parking are free until 5 p.m. Saturday.

 and grandstand tickets are $8 tonight. On Saturday night, tickets are $8 for bleachers and $10 for grandstands. Parking is $2.

A dance in the fairgrounds' Sage Auditorium follows Saturday's rodeo.

While the cattle drive is under way, downtown streets will be closed to traffic briefly, officials said. Cross streets will be closed one at a time as the drive travels eastward between about 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
