The Michael Hoefflin Foundation was established in September 1995 in honor of young Michael, who died after a battle with brain cancer. His parents, family and friends pledged to be a positive force in the discovery of cures for all children with cancer.

They were also determined to provide support to every local family dealing with children's cancer. Michael's determination and positive outlook on relationships became the inspiration for the foundation.

Last year's event raised $450,000, as nearly 1,000 guests bid on auction items ranging from sports memorabilia The term sports memorabilia usually refers to anything that can be directly connected to a sports event or personality. These items are generally gathered by fans of the particular sport, athlete or team that the item signifies or by collectors who find value in the rarity  to luxury trips abroad. After the bidding was complete, hundreds took to the dance floor to ``swing'' the evening away.

While Platinum tables have already sold out, Gold VIP tables are still available for $2,000 each and individual tickets can be purchased for $150. The proceeds from the event directly benefit local families struggling with children's cancer, as well as assist in the funding of research to find a cure.
