This year, Patterson is turning SADD SADD Students Against Destructive Decisions (formerly Students Against Drunk Driving)

``They'll be contacting (Mothers Against Drunk Drivers) and getting posters and fliers together,'' he said.

SADD will be featured Wednesday at a student car show, where California Highway Patrol highway patrol

Saugus High will continue a graduation tradition that requires students to ride the bus to the prom. Dave Okasaki, a student adviser, said he is encouraging teens to attend grad night at Disneyland rather than opt for parties where liquor is served.

``We're pushing very hard to give students something to do without letting them get involved in events that are dangerous,'' he said.

Safe Rides is a big promoter of safety for high school seniors, especially this time of year. Rhiannon Walker, who works at Canyon High, is collaborating with Safe Rides to promote sober graduation.

``Safe Rides is very effective, and a lot of people use it,'' she said. ``It saves lives. A simple call to Safe Rides can mean a secure ride home.''

A Safe Rides rally will be held during the lunch hour June 12 on campus. Walker has planned a visual lesson for students - a car destroyed in an accident will be placed at Canyon High for a sobering so·ber
