ANITECH ENTERPRISES INC. - EDMONTON SPCA HAS COMMENCED A MICROCHIP PROGRAM.

MARKHAM, ONTARIO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--JANUARY 16, 1995--ANITECH ENTERPRISES(VSE:ANI) Peter Hug, President of Anitech Enterprises Inc., is pleased to announce that the Edmonton S.P.C.A. has commenced a microchip identification program that will have all animals adopted from the S.P.C.A. microchipped and registered with Anitech 's PETNET National Registry.

At 8,000 adoptions a year, the Edmonton S.P.C.A. will be Anitech's single largest mandatory implant program. The Edmonton S.P.C.A. joins the growing list of 28 animal shelters and rescue groups across Canada that employ microchip identification for all adopted animals. This list includes the Toronto Humane Society, the Ottawa-Carleton Humane Society, and all branches of the Ontario Humane Society.

With the addition of the Edmonton S.P.C.A., Anitech's "PETNET" program has solidified its position in Western Canada, and with 550 veterinarians and 275 animal shelters across the country actively participating in PETNET, and over 100,000 animals already registered on the PETNET National Registry, the Company's goal of reducing the largest killer of companion animals, euthanasia, is becoming a reality.
