ANIMAL FAIR SCHEDULED FOR THIS WEEKEND.Byline: Susan Abram Staff Writer BURBANK - With a priest, a few movie and television stars, and a psychic all lined up to appear at the annual Festival of the Animals this weekend, organizers predict they've got a hit this year. Scheduled on Saturday and Sunday at the Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850. Equestrian Center, the festival offers fun for creatures great and small, with shows, contests and pet adoptions, including horses, dogs, rabbits and cats. For the first time at the event, the Rev. Albert Bahhuth of St. Finbar Catholic Church will perform the traditional Blessing of the Animals at 1 p.m. Sunday. The blessing is a custom handed down from St. Francis of Assisi and also held on the Saturday before Easter. ``The blessing gives thanks to God for creating animals and what the animals have given us, such as companionship or help in cultivating the land,'' Bahhuth said. ``They are a gift from God.''
